Butt Shots

Okay so to keep my progesterone level high I have to take progesteron three times a day by a vaginal suppostitory and one shot in my butt. So I have been doing this for a week now and I can hardly sit down. I will not complain as this is very important hormone to keep the pregnancy going until my baby can start producing HCG and the placenta starts taking over.   Still a little anxious regarding my week wait to take a pregnancy test. I will be the first one in line at the lab to get my blood drawn!!!

Ooh and My Husband gives me these Shots! He does an excellent job my butt just literally feels like a pin cushion.

The Designed Destiny

Wow so much has happened since my last post. I am excited to say that I am currently in my first SUCCESSFUL round of IVF.

So back in December 2012 I had a hysterscopy to clean my uterus out from polyps found back in October ( my original start date of IVF).  That procedure went really well and the Dr cleared me right after the surgery for the January IVF cycle. December went by so quickly!!!

January-
My husband planned a surprise skating party for my 35th birthday. It was awesome he invited all of my close friends and family near and far. I mean this man rented out the entire skating rink just for ME!!! It was an awesome show of love and we had a ball. At that moment I realized this year is MY year. 2013 will be the year of the Harvest and every tear I sowed every seed I have planted was coming forth this YEAR!!

I had received instructions to stay on my birth control until Jan 9th when I was to get my baseline labs for IVF on Jan 10th. Well my pill pack ended on Jan 5th and so I didn't think to start a new pack. Well I noticed I was bleeding and wasn't supposed to start my period. I quickly called my IVF nurse and she told me to come in the next day to"savage" my cycle. Immediately I began to pray and not become anxious about not starting this round.

All worked out we went and thank God there was another medicine you can start to prevent you from going into full menstruation. My estradiol level was low enough to begin taking the hormones that will stimulate my ovaries to hyperovulate.

I was thinking how God's time is the right time and how he had Jason has been relocated to my job and was afforded the first two weeks off in January to be by my side for every blood draw and ultrasound. We literally drove to Bethesda from Waldorf every morning from January 9-21 with maybe one or two days off. We were closely following my blood levels and follicle growth. We did wonderful!!

Jan 21st-MLK HOLIDAY and Inauguration of President Barack Obama for his second term as the first Black President.  Also the day my eggs were retrieved and fertilized by Jason's sperm. . I know graphic right>>>>>> BUT Totally supernatural.. They Retrieved 16 of my Eggs and out of those 16 ,,, 14 were fertilized!!! WOW  so under a microscope they are taking good care and watching my embryo grow. I mean its absolutely supernatural. It toke a man to think outside of the box or in this case the womb to find an alternative way of conceiving children. GOD is still the Zoey of life the Life Giver..

I am honored he chose to Design our Destiny this way!!

Jan 23rd- Prepared for day three transfer. We took the days off very excited about having our embryos transfered into my uterus. However God had another plan. It snowed today and we were bundling up to tackle the snow when the Dr. called and said I have 11 "high grade" embryos and they wanted to wait two more days to watch them grow.  So Saturday is the DAY!!!!

Our Transfer Day

So we were very excited as this day approached. We waited to what seemed like forever in the waiting room. I chatted with another couple who had traveled from Williamsburg, VA. I again felt blessed to be able to stay in my home and travel just an hour to have the treatment and return home to MY BED.

We were called back to the Dr Office to review our embryology. As we were waiting for them to come. We got really excited thinking wow this is it, we are going to have a baby. We made a video to commemorate the day.

So the doctor came and told us we had 8 mature Blastocyst. It was nice they grew them out till Day 5 because 2 of them arrested (didnt mature and died), Our Blastocyst was graded (Like school grades A-F).  We had one that was grade B/C and the doctor said it was really good near perfect!!! We had two more with the same grade... We decided to freeze the other two. So we could possible have three children later on!! Without having to retrieve any eggs and having the same great quality as the one God choose for today.

I came to the realization that God is in charge and I would rather carry one healthy embryo reducing my chances of complications and not get worked up about wanting them to place more than one. The Dr soothed my feeling,, I told her she was a miracle maker.. She responded no God is the maker Im just his instrument.!!!!

So they show you the picture of your Blastocyst they are going to implant (top pic), Then they use the speculum to enter throught the cervix with a catheter. They then bring the emboyo put it into the catheter and place it in your uterus (bottom pic). SIMPLY AMAZING

So we were able to see our little embryo and watch the entire process of them placing it into my uterus.
